Who I Learn From: My Favorite Fitness Experts and Podcasts

A common question I get asked by my clients is, "Who do you listen to for fitness or health advice?"


It's a great question, indeed. With countless podcasts, YouTube channels, and social media influencers sharing health and fitness information every day, it can be difficult to separate evidence-based advice from hype.


I believe in lifelong learning, and I regularly listen to experts who combine scientific research with years of practical knowledge. While they don't always agree on every topic - and that's perfectly fine - they all contribute valuable insights that help me become a better coach and provide greater guidance to my people.


Here are some of the experts I recommend following if you're interested in enhancing health, strength, nutrition, and longevity.


Dr. Andrew Huberman


Dr. Andrew Huberman is a neuroscientist and professor at Stanford University whose work is focused on the brain and nervous system influence on health and performance. His podcast explores topics such as sleep, recovery, focus, stress management, exercise, supplements, and longevity.


Why I follow him: Huberman has completely changed my way of thinking about recovery. His science-based advice on sleep, blue-light exposure, and stress management has reinforced that training hard is only part of the process—recovering well is what allows you to consistently perform at your best. Thomas DeLauer



Thomas DeLauer is a strength and conditioning expert known for making nutrition and fitness science easy to understand. His content covers fat loss, metabolic health, supplementation, and performance nutrition.


Why I follow him: Thomas does an excellent job explaining how nutrition impacts performance and body composition. His real-life strategies make it much easier to apply science to everyday eating habits without overcomplicating things. Cellular hacks, biology, strength and wellness.



Dr. Rhonda Patrick



Dr. Rhonda Patrick is a biomedical scientist whose research focuses on nutrition, longevity, and disease prevention. She often discusses topics such as micronutrients, sauna use, vitamin D, omega-3s, and creatine.


Why I follow her: Dr. Patrick has deepened my understanding of how small lifestyle habits can improve longevity. Her research on supplementation has been especially valuable for supporting recovery and healthy aging. Dr. Andy Galpin

Dr. Eric Berg is well recognized for his educational content on nutrition, ketogenic diets, and intermittent fasting. He focuses on simplifying complex health topics into practical advice.

Why I Follow her: Stacy serves as a research associate at Auckland University of Technology and an adjunct faculty member with the Stanford Lifestyle Medicine group. Through her extensive peer-reviewed research, courses, and books, she focuses on custom-tailoring fitness and nutrition to unique female physiology.


Conclusion

There is no shortage of fitness advice available today, but not all comes from credible sources. The experts listed above have earned their reputation through years of education, research, coaching, and experience.


Depending on your goals, choosing one of these health/fitness experts to improve your knowledge is an excellent place to be.
